What Families Need to Know Oogie Boogie Bash 2026

Disney just announced the 2026 Oogie Boogie Bash dates and if a fall Disneyland trip is anywhere on your radar, this is the post you need right now.

I was at Disneyland last September, right in the middle of Halloween Time, and even without a party ticket, the whole resort had this energy that was hard to describe. Decorations everywhere, themed food, the park just felt different. It made it very easy to understand why families plan entire trips around Oogie Boogie Bash specifically. So when the 2026 announcement dropped, I paid close attention.

Here's what matters if you're thinking about making it part of your fall.

What Is Oogie Boogie Bash?

Oogie Boogie Bash is a separately ticketed Halloween party held at Disney California Adventure, not Disneyland park. It runs on select nights only, while the rest of the resort stays open to regular ticket holders.

On party nights you get access to special entertainment, unique trick-or-treating trails, exclusive character meet-and-greets, themed food and drinks, and a villain-filled parade and show you won't find on a regular visit. Families who go once tend to come back for it every year.

Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 Dates

This year runs a record 33 nights, starting August 18 and running all the way through October 31.

August 2026 August 18, 20, 23, 25, 27, 30

September 2026 September 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29

October 2026 October 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29, 31

Why does this matter? Because if you're building a fall Disneyland trip and you want the party included, your travel dates need to land on a party night. This is the detail that catches families off guard more than almost anything else.

When Do Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 Tickets Go on Sale?

Ticket on-sale timing hasn't been confirmed yet for 2026, but based on previous years, Disney typically opens sales a few months before the first event. Last year tickets ranged from $139 to $199 per person depending on the date.

August dates are usually the most affordable, with prices climbing as Halloween gets closer. October dates, especially the final weekends and Halloween night itself, will sell out.

Waiting to see how your schedule looks is how families lose the dates they actually wanted.

Is Oogie Boogie Bash Worth It for Families?

Yes. And here's the detail that changes the math.

Your party ticket gets you into Disney California Adventure early, before the official start time, which means you can ride before the crowd arrives. It is one of those things that makes the whole evening feel much less rushed, especially if you're traveling with younger kids.

The event itself has a completely different feel from a regular park day. The villain character meet-and-greets, the trick-or-treating stops, the themed entertainment, it's a lot of content packed into one night and families with kids who are into Disney tend to get a lot out of it.

Planning a Fall Disneyland Trip for Your Family?

This is where having someone who knows the calendar makes a real difference. Between picking the right OBB date, layering it into your full resort stay, and making sure your regular park days don't accidentally overlap with early closures, there are a lot of moving pieces.
